iNNO SED aims to advance and showcase sediment assessment methodologies while demonstrating management solutions for specific sediment-related challenges. Examples of these challenges include river sections exposed to severe erosion, impoundments undergoing continuous sedimentation, or areas with polluted sediments. Such sediment issues are not confined to the Danube River Basin. Many large river systems worldwide encounter similar concerns due to human activities like river regulation, hydropower generation, and flood protection measures. The aim of this call is to provide financial support for at least 5 different local/regional authorities to fund the following type of activities: • Improvement of sediment management. • Sediment monitoring improvements. • Awareness raising on sediment flow alterations. •Understanding the role of sediments in the environment. • Sediment management in national policies. • Sediments in circular economy. • Nature-based-solutions for sediment flows.
