Beneficiary & submission

The selection process is divided into three phases: Phase #1: Fill out the online application form. *A team of experts from the programme's team and partners will review your application on a rolling basis. This means that the earlier you apply, the earlier we can review your submission and invite you to an online meeting to discuss it further. Phase #2: Eligible applicants will be invited to a short online qualification interview (up to 20 minutes). Please note that you might be asked for a second interview if needed. Phase #3: The evaluation committee will choose 10-14 eligible startups as described below. The assessment will be made by Gunma Prefecture - the programme's partners, Gunma based corporates, professionals from EIT Global Outreach Working Group (representatives of EIT Health, EIT Climate-KIC, EIT Culture and Creativity, EIT Manufacturing, and EIT Digital EIT Food), the EIT Global Outreach team and might include other relevant programme partners. Each application will be reviewed and ranked by the following criteria: (a) Excellence, differentiation of technology, and product maturity (30 pts.) (b) Market and Impact (30 pts.) (c) Quality and efficiency of the implementation (20 pts.) (d) Motivation and Bootcamp fit (20 pts.) (e) EU or Horizon Europe dimension (must) (5 Bonus points for Underrepresented groups) A total score of 100 pts. The startups with the highest scoring will be selected for the Bootcamp. The selection process narrows candidates step-by-step. Applications are first reviewed and scored based on their compliance with the eligibility criteria and alignment with the programme’s goals. Only those meeting these requirements will proceed to the interview stage. Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis after each application is received, but final rankings and selections are made only after all interviews are completed at the end of the call period. This ensures fair comparison and selection of the highest-scoring candidates.
