6G-PATH - Open Call #2

Description

The objective of the 6G-PATH project is to help foster the development and integration of new and improved tools and products from EU companies with 5G/6G. Seven testbeds are an integral part of the project consortium, which are used by 10 use cases spread across four key verticals: Education, Farming, Health, and Smart Cities. The 6G-PATH – Open Call #2 aims to fund and bring 30 new innovative use cases into the Beyond 5G (B5G)/6G ecosystem. The call targets forward-thinking industry (startups, SMEs) and research organisations to propose a use case that leverages the 6G-PATH infrastructure, namely the project’s seven cutting-edge testbeds and the two testbeds funded through Open Call #1. The awarded projects will start in January 2026 and have an implementation period of nine months, divided into 3 phases: Specification & Design [2 months] Development & Deployment [4 months] Validation & Evaluation [3 months] At the end of each phase, sub-grantees must provide a report that will lead to the payment associated to the phase. All sub-grantees will be provided with monitoring and other technical support.

Beneficiary & submission

The 6G-PATH – Open Call #2 is looking for technology developers capable of developing innovative applications and services (use cases) using the 6G-PATH infrastructure, including established testbeds and those introduced through the Open Call #1 projects. The open call accepts applications from individual legal entities, either SMEs (including startups) or research organisations (RTOs or academia/higher education organisations). Entities applying as a consortia are not eligible. The open call accepts applications from EU Member States and a selection of other countries (please consult the Guidelines for specific countries). Applicants are required to register at FS6 to be able to submit their proposals. Apply here: https://www.f6s.com/6g-path-open-call-2/apply When applying, applicants must provide administrative information, indicate the use case topic they are applying for, and upload their technical proposal (following the provided template). The remote evaluation will be done by internal and expert evaluators. The evaluation criteria are the following: (1) Concept & Innovation, (2) Impact, (3) Implementation, and (4) Applicant. Each criterion will be scored 0-5 with a minimum threshold of 3 points. Specific selection rules apply to ensure a balanced distribution across testbeds/ use cases, as well as a broad geographical distribution. The 6G-PATH - Open Call #2 will fund up to 30 projects with a maximum budget of €60,000 per project.
