Beneficiary & submission

Only applicants from countries and regions participating in the call are eligible for funding! The list of participating countries and regions can be found in chapter 4.4 of the Call Announcement. Submission & evaluation process Submission Procedure The Co-funded Call is conducted as a two-step-procedure. As a first step, a pre proposal has to be submitted and, following invitation, a full proposal can be submitted in a second step. Deadline pre proposals is 17 February 2025, 2 pm CET Deadline full proposals is 09 July 2025, 2 pm CEST Pre and full proposals must be submitted via the submission system only: https://agroecology.ptj.de Pre as well as full proposals that are not submitted on time within the submission system will not be considered for evaluation and will be rejected. Please note that the submission of a pre proposal is compulsory. Applicants cannot submit a full proposal at a later stage when a pre proposal was not submitted and selected to submit a full proposal. Details on each step are explained in the call document, which can be found on the submission website: https://agroecology.ptj.de Step 1 Pre proposal phase The objective of a pre proposal is to present the project idea and the consortium without providing much detail on the work plan. The detailed template for the pre proposal with explanations is provided in Annex II and an example is available within the document section of the submission website https://agroecology.ptj.de. Only eligible pre proposals according to the eligibility criteria as described in call document will be evaluated. Evaluation Eligible pre proposals will be evaluated against the three equally scored evaluation criteria Excellence, Impact and Relevance to the scope as described in the call document. Step 2 Full proposal phase Following the invitation to submit a full proposal, the Coordinator can submit a full proposal via the submission system https://agroecology.ptj.de.The detailed template for full proposals with explanations is provided in the call document available on the submission website https://agroecology.ptj.de. Only eligible full proposals according to the eligibility criteria as described in call document will be evaluated. Evaluation Full proposals will be evaluated against the following three equally weighted evaluation criteria Excellence, Impact and Quality and Efficiency of the Implementation as described in the call document.

Check also the webpage of the partnership AGROECOLOGY: https://www.agroecologypartnership.eu/ AGROECOLOGY, the European Partnership ‘Accelerating Farming Systems Transition: Agroecology Living Labs and Research Infrastructures’, is an ambitious, large-scale European research and innovation endeavour between the EC and 26 Member States (MS), Associated Countries (AC) and Third Countries. AGROECOLOGY will support an agriculture sector that is fit to meet the targets and challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, food security and sovereignty, and the environment, while ensuring a profitable and attractive activity for farmers. Major change is needed to make the agriculture sector more sustainable, resilient and responsive to societal and policy demands. Agroecology builds on natural, biological interactions while using state-of-the-art science, technology and innovation based on farmers’ knowledge. It represents a promising approach with the potential to respond to challenges faced by the European agriculture sector and to meet its needs. Real-life testing and experimentation environments, living labs are an appropriate instrument to accelerate the agroecology transition. Research infrastructures will also contribute to making scientific knowledge on agroecology available for this transition. Together these instruments will allow for ambitious experimentation at different scales, merging science and practice, to provide science-based evidence on the effects of novel approaches and accelerate the agroecology transition. AGROECOLOGY will pool the resources of the EC and the states involved to fund high-level research generating appropriate knowledge and technologies aligned with the core themes described in the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda, while also implementing a series of supporting activities to inform, consult, advise and involve different stakeholders to build capacities, raise awareness and manage and exchange the knowledge and data created.
