Call for excellence scholarships for students of the Master's program AI & Health at Stockholm University

Submission & Evaluation process

Purpose: Stockholm University is opening applications for scholarships aimed at supporting outstanding students enrolled in the Master’s program AI for Health, hosted by the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) at Stockholm University (SU). The goal is to recognize and reward academic excellence and encourage students to make the most of their studies.

The hosting organism: the aim of the action is to motivate students enrolled in the Master’s program AI for Health to make the best out of their studies and support the most active and high-performing students. Awarded students will receive a grant to aid their educational journey.

The principles and procedure for awarding funding: this call is open only for students from EU-countries, EFTA countries, and those from countries already associated with the Digital Europe program (like Ukraine). Applicants need to be registered as students in the Master’s program AI for Health. Please note that this scholarship cannot be combined with other European-funded grants (e.g., the allowance awarded as part of the mobility for traineeship within the Programme Erasmus+) to avoid double-funding.

Applications:

Interested students must submit their application in English, including the following documents:

·A cover letter explaining the motivation for applying and how the grant would be used for (e.g., covering fees, travel for student exchanges, accommodation, living costs or other uses)

·A transcript of courses taken and the grades received per course so far per 2025-06-30

·Explanation for any missed courses or low grades

·Brief CV

·A copy of the applicant’s passport

Selection criteria: grants will be awarded based on academic excellence, considering the number of courses and credits completed, grades achieved, and the strength of the motivation letter. (Example: a passed 7.5 credits with grade E is equal to 7.5 points, grade D is equal to 10 points, C is equal to 12.5, B is equal to 15 points and finally, grade A is equal to 17.5 points).

In the event of a tie between applicants, preference will be given to those who provide a clear and compelling explanation of why they apply for this grant and how they intend to use the grant.

Payment arrangements: Grants will be paid directly by Stockholm University to the selected students, approximately 2 weeks after the official decision, and after the Department of Computer and Systems sciences (DSV) has received the successful applicants’ bank account details.

Maximum budget of this call: 48 000 Euros (52 000 Euros set aside for a repeated call year 2026).

Grant amount: 3 000 Euros per individual grant recipient.
