VOXReality Open Call

VOXReality is an initiative that aims to facilitate the convergence of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision (CV) technologies in the Extended Reality (XR) field. We develop innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI) models that will combine language as a core interaction medium supported by visual understanding to deliver next-generation applications that provide comprehension of user's goals, surrounding environment and context. What does VOXReality offer? The VOXReality Open Call aims to extend application domains by funding five external entities with 200K EUR equity-free. The goal is to integrate VOXReality models into new XR applications, thus advancing immersive experiences across various sectors. We provide developer tools for natural language processing and models (All the AI models will be publicly shared at Hugging Face), along with APIs for: Automatic Speech Recognition and Neural Machine Translation: Empowering seamless communication across the consortium languages (English, Dutch, German, Spanish, Italian, and Greek) through audio and text translation, including contextual understanding and terminology adaptation. Visual Language Models: Enabling comprehensive spatial understanding and interaction with RGB images, including scene description, question answering, and image captioning. Conversation Agents: Facilitating intuitive interactions with XR environments through intent recognition, navigation assistance, and program-related information retrieval. The VOXReality Open Call will fund consortia composed of one or two partners: Single entities: Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); Consortium of maximum of 2 entities: Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Participants in VOXReality Open Call are invited to submit a proposal addressing one of the following challenges: - Challenge 1 - Integration Challenge - Challenge 2 - Extension Challenge - Challenge 3 - Full-cycle Challenge The VOXReality consortium will provide guidelines and technical support in engineering integration, testing and validation to support the development of the projects.
Beneficiary & submission
Submission of proposals:
Applications shall be submitted via F6S on https://www.f6s.com/voxreality-open-call/
Evaluation:
An external evaluation board with experience in XR/AR/VR and business/market development will review each proposal, bound by a contract and confidentiality agreement. At least two different experts will evaluate each proposal. Applications will be sorted and selected through the following three main phases:
1. Admissibility and eligibility check
Proposals must meet ALL following eligibility criteria. The eligibility check enables the creation of a shortlist of proposals to be evaluated in the next step of the evaluation process.
2. External remote evaluation
Eligible proposals will be evaluated remotely by independent evaluators. The following evaluation criteria apply: Alignment, Excellence, Impact, Value and Implementation.
3. Ranking and final selection
At the end of the evaluation process, applications will be ranked considering the final score. Evaluation criteria are described in Section 5 of the Guidelines for Applicants.
