Closed

Description

The HungryEcoCities project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement 101069990. In Hungry EcoCities, studios, universities, growers, and agricultural specialists team up with artists and creative thinkers to come up with new ideas for the future food system. Hungry EcoCities will host 20 S+T+ARTS residencies and will be working towards defining, designing, and developing AI-enabled responsible, art-driven solutions for the end-users in the agri-food industries. For this first open call, we are looking to select up to 10 artists that are interested in exploring digital questions utilizing a mix of technology and art, and will work on artistic agri-food AI usability explorations. The selected artists will receive up to 40 000 EUR as a lump sum to cover the costs of the 9-months residency where they will explore and prototype AI applications in agri-food sector through artistic means. A fitting artist for the 1st Open Call in Hungry EcoCities is someone who is interested in exploring digital questions utilizing a mix of technology and art. The artist has skills as both a creative thinker/maker and has technical knowledge/expertise. The artist will be working with a mix of technology and will explore art-driven innovations in the agri-food sector by utilizing the Hungry EcoCities toolbox (technologies enabled by the project consortium). Previous experience with art-tech experimentation projects will be valued but does not represent a condition for participation.
