REMEDIES Open Call 1 (OC1): Collection and Valorisation

OC1 "Collection & Valorisation" is focused on projects / applications whose main goal is to benefit and speed up the uptake of plastic litter collection and/or finding innovative ways to repurpose or transform plastic waste into valuable products or resources. The OC1 will fund programs taking place between 15th January 2024 and 15th of June 2024. Throughout this period the applicants are expected to have regular, monthly, meetings with REMEDIES mentors to present the state of the art and receive support and input in the implementation, whenever needed. It’s also recommended that KPIs and Milestones, with concrete, quantitative and verifiable characteristics, guide these meetings, in order to have a clearer notion of the evolution of the implementation and identify needs for support or decide on mitigation actions. As mandatory activities of the program, it is expected to organise at least one meeting per month with the assigned mentor(s), or whenever required, to present the development of the tasks and activities. A representative of selected applicants shall also attend the OC1 KOM and the OC1 closing event, at the end of the six months implementation period. Beneficiary & submission
Submission It is mandatory to apply online via F6S Online System: https://www.f6s.com/open-call-1-remedies/apply Additional to the Application Form, a technical document has to be submitted during this stage. This will support the evaluation process, having in mind the overall criteria defined in the Guide for Applicants. The evaluation is to be done in a first stage by a pool of external experts to be selected through an expression of interest. IMPORTANT: Documents to be submitted if your application is selected: 1. Declaration of Honour 2. Sub-grantee Agreement signed Evaluation process Applications will be collected, analysed, and assessed by a pool of multidisciplinary panel of experts to ensure a well-rounded evaluation process that considers various aspects of plastic pollution and its mitigation. Applications will be sorted and selected following three main steps: 1. Admissibility and Eligibility check 2. Proposal evaluation 3. Ranking and final selection Applications will be evaluated remotely by two (2) external experts, and assign individual and final scoring. The final results will be verified and confirmed by an internal pool of partners from the REMEDIES Project. Further information
Financial scheme REMEDIES OC1 will grant to local and regional associated regions (public sector) up to 200.000 Euro in total. The awarded applicants under OC1 will get their financing through two slots of payment as determined in the Guide for Applicants and the Sub-grantee Agreement. Payment scheme will be performed based on the successful accomplishment of the program determined by the indicative KPIs. The first payment will be transferred as soon as the selection is announced and it corresponds to 70% of the total requested budget in order to enable the start of activities. The second and last payment (the remaining 30% of the grant) will be transferred at the end of the sixth month period, after a positive assessment by the mentors, who will be following the development and implementation of the proposal. Additionally, the awarded applicants will receive technical assistance, including advisory services, to contribute effectively to the objectives of the REMEDIES project.
