INTEGRATION OF EXISTING APPLICATIONS, MODELS AND DATA INTO EDITO

Description

The selected beneficiaries commit to carry out the following activities: Integrate existing or near-final applications, models or datasets into the EDITO platform. Ensure that the proposed application, datasets or models follow FAIR principles. Provide open and reusable technical components (e.g. APIs, connectors, metadata services) that contribute to the long-term evolution of the EDITO platform. Address identified needs within the scientific, institutional, or technical communities. Support user needs and key EU policies, including the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030”, the EU Green Deal, the Ocean Pact, the MSFD, and the MSP Directive.

Beneficiary & submission

The call opens on 6th March 2026 and the deadline for applications is 6th May 2026. Applications must be submitted through the dedicated online portal: https://grants-mercator-ocean.achatpublic.com/sdm/ent2/gen/ficheCsl.action?PCSLID=CSL_2026_kwDGt47Pjp The evaluation will ensure transparency, equal treatment, confidentiality, and conflict of interest mitigation. Proposals will first undergo an eligibility check by the Edito Call Secretariat. The assessment panel will rate all eligible proposals, taking into account the excellence, impact, interoperability, stakeholder engagement and the added value of integrating the proposal to EDITO. The evaluation panel will establish a ranking list. All applicants will be informed of the funding decision, and feedback will be provided to unsuccessful applicants.

Further information

This first call focuses on the integration into the EDITO platform of mature, already developed and qualified digital ocean applications, models or datasets which are ready or close to their final version.   The call welcomes projects developing interoperable applications or models that can be applied to key ocean and coastal challenges, including biodiversity monitoring, ecosystem assessment and climate-related scenario modelling.   Selected projects will contribute to improving ocean data flows, ocean modelling capacity, and scenario testing for the implementation of the below-mentioned policy frameworks, directives and for the EU Mission Lighthouses.
